A success right from the beginning

I had a private 5 day birding tour with Carl Bendorf of Colorado Birding Adventures in early May 2019. The trip was a success right from the beginning. I hit it off right away with Carl as he is very easy going and has a good sense of humor. We saw a very close White-Tailed Ptarmigan in Loveland Pass within the first couple of hours of leaving the airport. Got my first lifer target, the Brown-Capped Rosy-Finch, a couple of hours later. We did a fair amount of driving across the state the next few days and saw a variety of other good birds, such was Clark’s Nutcracker, Red Crossbill, Sagebrush Sparrow, Mountain Plover, Golden Eagle, American Dipper, Lark Bunting, McCown’s Longspur, Chestnut-Collared Longspur and Burrowing Owl. I would highly recommend traveling with Carl.
